Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using "Price Book (Nedancho)" (the "App"). By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

1. The Service

The App lets you record and compare the prices of items from supermarkets and other stores, organized by item and store. It includes a feature that reads item names and prices from photos of price tags, receipts, or flyers; a feature for sharing a price table with friends; a feature for transferring your records when you change devices; and a feature for issuing a viewable share link. The App does not guarantee the accuracy of photo-reading results and asks you to check them yourself before they are recorded.

2. Fees and Payment (In-App Purchases)

The App is free to use. The following features are available for free: entering prices by hand, the price notebook (search, favorites, item details), the shopping list, records, the friends feature, device transfer, and the first use of the photo-reading feature. In addition, the following paid plan, "Nedancho Premium" (an in-app purchase, auto-renewing subscription), is available. All prices include tax and follow what is shown in the App Store.

  • Nedancho Premium (monthly, auto-renewing): 400 JPY per month
  • Nedancho Premium (annual, auto-renewing): 2,800 JPY per year (includes a 7-day free trial; the free trial is available only with the annual plan)
  • Prices in other regions are the local equivalents shown in the App Store.
  • The paid plan unlocks photo-based recording (reading receipts, price tags, and flyers, subject to a monthly usage limit), the household budget by category, the savings amount, and share links.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • The subscription renews automatically and the renewal fee is charged unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • After purchase, you can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal (cancel) from your App Store account settings.
  • Refunds are governed by Apple's terms and practices. The operator does not provide pro-rated refunds for the current period.

The notation required by Japan's Act on Specified Commercial Transactions will be disclosed without delay upon request. The contact address is given at the end of these Terms.

3. About the Photo Analysis Feature

  • Reading price tags, receipts, and flyers is provided using an external provider's (Google's) generative AI (Gemini). Due to circumstances or outages at the external provider, this feature may be temporarily unavailable, or its reading accuracy may vary.
  • Reading results are reference information and their accuracy is not guaranteed. Please check the content yourself before it is recorded in your notebook.
  • This feature is free for the first use only. A paid plan is required for further use. Even with the paid plan, there is a monthly usage limit to prevent abuse (this limit may change).
  • The operator may stop or change this feature without notice due to cost, outages, or other circumstances. Even while this feature is unavailable, you can still enter item names and prices by hand.

4. About the Friends Feature

  • Adding a friend uses an invite code or QR code that is valid for 24 hours from when it is issued. Once a friend connection is made, both sides' table of "currently valid prices" (store name, item name, quantity, category, and price) is exchanged, and can be used for comparison on each other's screen.
  • You can add up to 30 friends.
  • A friend's price table is based on content that friend has recorded, and the operator does not guarantee its accuracy.
  • Once you remove a friend, each other's price table is no longer visible. This feature is free to use.

5. About Device Transfer

  • When you change devices, you can transfer your records by issuing an 8-character code from "Device Transfer" in Settings and entering that code on the new device. The code is valid for up to 24 hours from when it is issued and becomes invalid once used.
  • If the code is not used, the held copy of your records is deleted after at most 24 hours. An expired code cannot be used to transfer records.
  • This feature is free to use.

6. About Share Links (a Paid Plan Feature)

  • With the paid plan, you can issue a "share link" that shows a range you choose — your price notebook, shopping list, purchase records, or household budget — on a dedicated URL (a view page). This page has no login, so anyone who knows the link can view it. Sharing the link is at your own discretion and responsibility.
  • If you cancel the paid plan, the link stops working. If you subscribe again, the same link becomes viewable again. Issuing a new link invalidates the previous one.

7. Accuracy of Records

  • A recorded price is either entered by you directly, received from a friend's price table, or the result of a photo reading that you have checked and corrected yourself. It may differ from the store's actual price, tax rate, or sale conditions.
  • The "typical price," "comparison," "total," and "savings amount" shown by the App are reference information based on the prices you have recorded, and the App does not guarantee that they match the amount you actually pay. Please check the store's displayed price before you buy.

8. Relationship with Third Parties

The App is not affiliated or associated with the manufacturers or operators of the products or stores handled within the App, and is not endorsed or sponsored by them.

9. Conditions of Use

  • You use the App at your own responsibility.
  • You are responsible for providing the devices and network connectivity required to use the App.

10. Prohibited Conduct

  • Act in violation of law or public order and morals
  • Use the photo analysis feature for purposes other than reading item prices, or interfere with the operation of the service, such as by sending an excessive number of requests
  • Use the friends feature or share links beyond their intended purpose (sharing your price table, or letting family and similar view your content), such as publishing them to an unspecified large audience or for purposes that infringe the rights of others
  • Reproduce, modify, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reverse engineer the App beyond what is permitted by law
  • Interfere with the operator's operation of the App

11. Handling of Data and Disclaimer

  • Your records are stored only on your device. The operator keeps no backup. Records may be lost due to device failure or loss, deletion of the App, an OS update, or similar causes.
  • Transferring records, exchanging price tables with friends, or viewing a share link may become temporarily or unavoidably unavailable due to an expired transfer code, a share-link or server issue, or similar causes.
  • To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for damages arising from your use of the App, including the loss of records, decisions made based on incorrect price information, or a share link being passed on to a third party.

12. Intellectual Property

Rights relating to the App belong to the operator.

13. Restrictions on Use

If you violate these Terms, the operator may restrict your use of the App, including the photo analysis feature, the friends feature, and share links.

14. Changes to These Terms

The operator may change these Terms when it deems necessary. The revised Terms take effect when posted on this page.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. In the event of a dispute concerning the App, the court having jurisdiction over the operator's location shall be the exclusive court of first instance.
