These Terms of Use (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using "Rosenzu Wars" (the "App"). By using the App you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.
1. Service
The App is a game in which you type, in hiragana, the name of a station pointed to on a rail map with the station names hidden. Ten questions make one round, and your rating and rank rise and fall based on the result. You can use a leaderboard against other users, and compete against someone else on the same ten questions by sharing a six-character passphrase (a "challenge letter"). The basic features are free to use, but the number of plays and similar are limited (see Section 2).
2. Pricing
2.1 Free use
- The App is free to use. However, rated matches are limited to three per day, and you can have up to three challenge letters open at once. Solving a challenge letter you receive does not count toward your daily plays, and there is no limit on how many you can receive (each challenge letter can be solved once).
- On the screen you reach after using up your plays for the day, if you choose "Watch an ad to play again" (「広告を見て もう1回」), a video advertisement from Google AdMob is shown. Watching the advertisement to completion adds one more play for that day (up to three advertisements per day). No play is added if you do not watch it to completion or if the advertisement fails to load.
- Advertisements are shown only when you take the action above, and are not shown to subscribers. Advertisements are shown only in non-personalised form (not based on your interests). If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent regarding advertising through Google's consent management platform (User Messaging Platform) before showing an advertisement, and you can change your choice from "Ad privacy settings" (「広告のプライバシー設定」) in the App's Settings screen. See the Privacy Policy for how information is handled in connection with advertising.
2.2 Subscriptions (in-app purchases)
- The App offers an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly). With a subscription, you can play rated matches as many times as you like each day, you can have up to 20 challenge letters open at once, and you no longer need to watch advertisements to get more plays.
- The price is the amount shown on the subscription screen in the App. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, it renews automatically at the end of the period for the same period and price, and you are charged.
- You can cancel or change your plan from the subscription management screen in the App Store (iOS Settings). Even after cancelling, you can continue to use the subscription until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Payments and refunds are subject to Apple's terms. Except where required by law, the operator cannot handle refund requests directly. If you would like a refund, please request it from Apple.
- Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID. After changing phones or reinstalling the App, you can restore your subscription with "Restore purchases" (「購入を復元する」) on the subscription screen.
- The contents of the subscription (such as the number of plays and challenge letters) and its price may change. Where a change is to the disadvantage of current subscribers, we will give advance notice within the App or by another method the operator considers appropriate.
2.3 Use by minors
If you are a minor, please obtain the consent of a parent or guardian before purchasing a subscription.
3. Storage of records
- Records such as your rating, rank, and the stations you've correctly answered are stored on your device. Records needed for the leaderboard and challenge letters are also stored on the operator's server.
- Uninstalling the App deletes your on-device records together with the key that identifies you. If you reinstall, your rating and rank start over from the beginning.
- If you are moving your records when changing phones, please issue a "transfer code" (eight characters, valid 24 hours, usable once) from within the App before deleting the App on your old device.
- A transfer code moves records such as your rating and rank. It does not move your subscription (your subscription is tied to your Apple ID, so on a new device please use "Restore purchases" described in 2.2).
4. About your display name
- You may set a "display name" when using the leaderboard or challenge letters (setting one is optional). Your display name is shown on the leaderboard and challenge screens and is visible to other users.
- For a challenge letter, anyone who knows the six-character passphrase can see participants' display names and answers, even if they have not solved it themselves. See the Privacy Policy for details.
- You may not set a display name that contains another person's real name or contact details, language that violates public order and morals, language that defames others, or a third party's trademark or similar.
- The operator may remove a record containing a display name it judges inappropriate from the leaderboard or a challenge letter without prior notice.
5. Prohibited conduct
Users must not do any of the following.
- Acts that violate laws or public order and morals
- Unauthorised access to the App or related systems, or placing excessive load on them
- Submitting a record that differs from your actual result, or otherwise harming the fairness of the leaderboard
- Modifying, disassembling, or otherwise reverse-engineering the App
- Infringing the rights or interests of others
6. Question data and rail maps
- The station positions, line connections, and station order in the App are created by processing the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's "National Land Numerical Information (railway data)."
- The rail maps shown in the App are redrawn by the operator under its own original rules based on the above data, and differ from the route maps published by railway operators. The line colours are also the operator's own approximate colours; no operator's official line colours, line symbols, or corporate emblems are used.
- The App has no relationship with any railway operator. Please do not direct inquiries about the App's content to any railway operator.
- The rail maps in the App are not intended for actual travel or transfer guidance. Please do not use them to plan a trip.
- The question data has a version (fiscal year). There is a time lag before actual changes to lines or stations are reflected in the App.
7. Disclaimer
- The operator does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of the App's content or features.
- To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any damage incurred by a user through use of the App.
- The App and its leaderboard/match features may be changed, suspended, or discontinued without notice. The operator is not liable even if the App becomes unavailable due to network conditions, device trouble, or similar causes.
- Records stored on the server may be lost due to outages, migration, anti-fraud measures, or similar causes. We do not guarantee the preservation of records.
- Advertisements shown in the App are delivered by Google. The operator is not responsible for the content of advertisements or for the products or services advertised.
- The operator is not liable if a play is not added because an advertisement could not be loaded or played to the end, or for similar reasons.
8. Intellectual property
Copyright and other intellectual property rights in the App's program, screen design, rail map drawings (including layout and colouring), and other expression belong to the operator or to the rightful rights holders. Users must not reproduce, modify, or republish/distribute these without the operator's permission.
9. Restriction of use
The operator may take necessary measures, such as deleting records or suspending use, if a user breaches these Terms.
10. Changes to the Terms
The operator may change these Terms as necessary. Where there is a material change, we will give notice within the App or by another method the operator considers appropriate.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Japanese law. Any dispute concerning the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the operator's location.
